As of Friday, July 20, 2018 speed limits increased across Antelope County.
Highways that were originally 55 or 60 mph were increased to 65 mph and expressways increased from 65 to 70 mph.
Legislative Bill 1009 went into effect in multiple areas of the state.
According to Antelope County News Highway 14 in Antelope County saw an increase in sections of the highway. From Neligh north to the 14/20 junctions, the speed limit was increased to 65 mph. This increase was also seen on Highway 14 south of Elgin.
It is to be noted to drivers, Highway 14 from Elgin to Neligh remains 60 mph.
Highway 70 west of Elgin and Highway 45 south of Tilden to the 32/45 junction increased to 65 mph as well.
