JULY 24, 2018 (GRAND ISLAND, NEB.) As the community of Burwell prepares for the annual Nebraskas Big Rodeo, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol will be working to reduce the potential for serious injury or fatality crashes.
Troopers will conduct a special DUI enforcement operation in Garfield County throughout the event, from July 25 through July 28.
Nebraskas Big Rodeo brings visitors from all over to Burwell, said Captain Jeromy McCoy, Commander of Troop C. The large event also brings an increase in alcohol consumption. Those who plan to drink should prepare ahead of time and designate a driver.
This operation is made possible thanks in part to a grant for $1,100 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
