Neligh, NE – Shortly after the Aaron Watson concert in Neligh, nebraska last Friday, an Antelope County deputy was directing traffic leaving the park from the concert. The deputy had contact with several individuals in a vehicle and suspected alcohol abuse.
The officer approached the vehicle but the driver and occupants fled the scene.
The police pursuit was brief ending two miles south of Neligh at the intersection of 846 Rd and HWY 14 after the vehicle left the roadway, entered the east ditch, hit a right of way concrete marker, traveled through a barbed wire fence and then several feet into a pasture.
Pursuit continued after the occupants fled on foot. Officers had to call the search off due to a thunderstorm with heavy rain coming into the area.
The vehicle was registered to Charles and Shelly Bode, of Elgin, and according authorities, with an alleged falsified identification document for Chad Bode inside with various items and cell phone helping identify the possible occupants.
A warrant was issued for the 19-year-old driver. Bode was arrested Saturday, Aug. 4 and bonded out the same day.
Charges possibly include flight to avoid arrest, obstruction, minor in possession and falsified personal documents.
