Kearney, NE. Three Tri-City Storm players have been named to the roster for the 2018 USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 19th. The forty two man roster was released last week by USA Hockey, and it includes Storm defenseman Mike Koster, goaltender Isaiah Saville, and defenseman Zac Jones.
The USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game is an annual event showcasing U.S. born players who are eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft. This years game will highlight the talents of forty two players, all of whom are 2019 NHL Draft eligible. This past June, at the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas, TX, Tyler Madden and Sam Hentges became the 35th & 36th players in team history to be drafted. Mike Koster, 17, of Chaska, MN skated in twenty three games with the Storm during the 2017-2018 season. Koster scored two goals, and recorded nine assists for a total of eleven points. Koster was selected 2nd overall in the 2017 USHL Phase I draft by the Storm, and previously announced a commitment to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota.
Isaiah Saville, 17, of Anchorage, AK was acquired by the Storm in a trade with the Madison Capitols on May 10th. Saville spent last season with the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL, and made forty four appearances in net. He finished the regular season with a record of 21-13-3-1, and had a save percentage of .927. Saville is committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Zac Jones, 17, of Glen Allen, VA was selected 3rd Overall by the Storm in the 2018 USHL Phase II draft. Jones spent the 2017-2018 season with the Selects Hockey Academy in South Kent, CT. He skated in sixty one games and scored ten goals. Jones also compiled forty four assists and finished the season with fifty six points. Jones is committed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
