Over the Labor Day Weekend Greeley Native Alan Bartels promoted his new book Whats Going Down in Prairie Dog Town? at the Ord Township Library and Central Valley High School.
Bartels is a Greeley High School graduate and is now an editor for Nebraska Life. His book, dedicated to his daughter, Becky, bring a message of conservation and self-discovery to its readers.
All of the proceeds from the books sales go to Jane Goodalls Roots & Shoots organization which has a mission of bringing youth together to work on environmental conservation and humanitarian issues.
Bartels and Goodall met while volunteering at Rowe Sanctuary a few years before working for Nebraska Life and soon became friends which led Bartels to begin writing his book.
Bartels donated copies of the book to the Central Valley Elementary and Ord Township Library for the youth to check out. Those interested in a copy of Whats Going Down in Prairie Dog Town? can purchase one at Anderson Pharmacy in Ord, Valley Fire Espresso in Ord, mascotbooks.com or Amazon.com.
