Neb.- The Nebraska Department of Administrative Services has announced that all Nebraska State Government agencies, boards and commissions will receive an additional paid holiday on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 to honor the passing of President George H.W. Bush.
On December 1, President Trump signed an executive order to excuse federal teammates from duty declaring it an official National Day of Mourning in respect to the former President Bush.
According to Nebraska State Statute 84-1001 (3), “For purposes of this section, paid holidays shall include all of the days enumerated in section 25-2221 and all days declared by law or proclamation of the President or Governor to be holidays.”
For the December 5, 2018 agency directors will determine the appropriate staffing levels required to maintain agency operations that serves the best interest of the public.
With that said, for the Valley County Courthouse, the county’s Driver License Examiner will not be at the courthouse on Wednesday, Dec. 5 due to their offices being closed for the holiday.
