At around 3:20 pm on Friday, March 29, 2019 a one vehicle accident on HWY 70 approximately eight miles south of Ord a 2003 Chevy Yukon driven by a 45-year-old woman from Arcadia, Nebraska left the roadway traveling northbound. The driver hit a patch of ice causing her vehicle to hydroplane and land into the ditch facing north on the west side ditch off of HWY 70.
The vehicle then caught fire leaving the car totaled. The driver is in stable condition and was transported to Valley County Health Systems. A seat belt was in use.
The Valley County Sheriff’s Department, Ord Fire and Rescue and Ord Police Department responded to the scene.
