The Nebraska soccer team (4-9-4, 3-5-2 Big Ten) wraps up the regular season on Sunday when the Huskers host Penn State (11-6-1, 7-3-0 Big Ten) at Hibner Stadium, starting at 1:05 p.m.
Prior to the match, the Huskers will hold their Senior Day ceremony, honoring Sinclaire Miramontez, Savanah Uveges, Mayte Corral, Aubrei Corder, Brenna Ochoa, Hannah McKinney and Meg Brandt. In addition, it’s Family Funday at Hibner Stadium, featuring face painting, balloon twisting stations and inflatables for families to enjoy.

If Nebraska qualifies for the eight-team Big Ten Tournament, the first round games will be played on Sunday, Nov. 3 on the campus sites of the top four seeds.
Kicking Off
• Nebraska is tied for seventh in the Big Ten standings with 11 points (three points for a win, one point for a tie) with Indiana and Northwestern entering the final week of the regular season.
• The Huskers’ final match is scheduled for Sunday, but the Big Ten regular season will officially end with two games on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The top eight teams in the final standings (based on point total) will advance to the Big Ten Tournament, starting Sunday, Nov. 3.
• Since joining the Big Ten in 2011, Nebraska has qualified for the conference tournament four times (2012, 2013, 2016, 2018). NU captured the title in 2013 after winning the regular-season crown.
• Nebraska is ranked 115th in the latest RPI, released by the NCAA on Monday. The Huskers have faced four teams in the top 20: No. 4 USC, No. 9 Wisconsin, No. 14 Clemson and No. 17 Kansas. Arkansas, one of Nebraska’s two exhibition foes this season, is ranked sixth in this week’s RPI.
• Nebraska’s devoted fan base has continued its strong attendance numbers at Hibner Stadium this season. In eight home games this season, NU has welcomed 7,340 fans, an average of 918 per contest. This average ranks 27th nationally and second in the Big Ten, behind only Penn State (1,226). NU has ranked in the top 25 nationally and in the top two of the Big Ten in average attendance during all four years at Hibner Stadium.
• Senior Aubrei Corder is the nation’s active career leader in goalkeeper minutes played (7,514). Washington State’s Ella Dederick ranks second with 7,187 career minutes played.
• With an appearance on Sunday, Corder will move into a tie for first place on Nebraska’s career games played by a goalkeeper list with Karina LeBlanc (80). Corder already owns the school records for goalkeeper minutes played (7,514) and games started by a goalkeeper (79). She ranks in the top five in program history in career saves (second, 245), wins by a goalkeeper (fourth, 33) and shutouts (second, 27.2).
Scouting the Penn State Nittany Lions
• Penn State is 11-6-1 this season with a 7-3-0 mark in Big Ten games. The Nittany Lions are in third place in the conference standings with 21 points, behind Wisconsin (22 points) and Michigan (22). PSU enters the weekend on a five-game winning streak.
• In this week’s RPI, Penn State is ranked 41st.
• Last season, Penn State went 18-6-1 overall and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Nittany Lions captured the 2018 Big Ten regular-season crown with a 9-2-0 record in conference play.
• Penn State leads the all-time series against Nebraska, 4-2-2, dating back to the first meeting between the schools in 2011. Last season, NU knocked off the then-24th-ranked Nittany Lions in University Park, Pa., 1-0, marking the first time PSU had been shut out at home since 2016.
• Head Coach Erica Dambach is 213-72-20 in her 13th season at Penn State. She holds a career record of 253-100-23 in her 17th year overall. Dambach is assisted by Ann Cook, Tim Wassell and Haley Miller.
