Jessie Scarlett was in Valley County District court Tuesday December 17th. Scarlett, 35 entered pleas of no contest to two counts of motor vehicle homicide in the deaths of 48 year old Eric John and 41 year oldTara Roy and Roy’s unborn child was to be delivered the day after the accident. Two cases against Scarlett were dismissed. The charges that Scarlett plead guilty to were both 3A felonies that have no minimum sentence and maximum of 3 years and a $10,000.00 fine. Scarlett was estimated to have been driving 66-70 mph when he was driving eastbound on Hwy 58 and came upon the Hwy 281 intersection when he ran the intersection and collided with the vehicle that Eric John was driving with Tara Roy as a passenger. Scarlett was found to have meth and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash. Also killed in the crash was 19 year oldĀ Briana Loveland.
