The National Weather Service in Hastings, NE has issued a winter storm watch for the counties of Valley, Sherman, Dawson and Buffalo beginning Friday afternoon and running through Saturday afternoon. This watch includes the cities of Ord, Loup City, Litchfield, Lexington, Cozad, Gothenburg and Kearney. As well as Sherman Reservoir and Willow Island.
Heavy snow will be possible with total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches possible.
Winds will be Easterly at around 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to around 25 MPH.
Expect slippery road conditions with this storm which could lead to hazardous travel.
Most of the snow is expected to fall Friday evening through the overnight. Snow will be wet and heavy, likely starting as a mix of rain and snow on Friday afternoon.
