The Ord Area Chamber of Commerce and Valley County Economic Development continue to monitor the recommendations of public health agencies both locally and on a federal level. In keeping with those recommendations effective 3/18/2020 the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce and Valley County Economic Development Offices will be closed to public access. Staff will be available via telephone and email to offer information and assistance and to provide services and conduct business. All meetings and events are cancelled or postponed until March 31st. This policy will be reevaluated at that time.
Gaylord Boilesen, President of the Economic Development Board, stated, “As we deal in this uncertain time please respect the decisions businesses are making as to the safety of their employees. Each one is trying to keep their staff safe so they can continue to offer services to their customers. If Valley County Economic Development or the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce can be of service, please feel free to call 308-728-7875.”
Betty Wheeler, president of the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce added, “Thank you to the businesses and individuals who are tirelessly working overtime to provide essential products and services for our community. Many have altered their business operations despite the inconvenience, to continue supplying these services. In addition, some have made the hard decision to close their doors for the time being, sacrificing valuable income and profits in the name of community safety. For these decisions made in the best interest of our home, we are endlessly thankful.”
