The Nebraska State Patrol Special Investigations Team is investigating an incident that lead to a Neligh police officer shooting a driver Sunday Afternoon. Police were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle that was involved in a road rage incident. When the officer approached the vehicle the driver took off and dragged the officer with them. The NSP Investigators say the officer then shot the driver as he was dragged and was able to get free of the vehicle. The vehicle then continued west bound until someone who witnessed the incident was able to force them off the road. Both the officer and the driver were taken to Antelope Memorial Hospital by Neligh Rescue and expected to survive.
