Gerald Beyersdorf and a teenage girl were caught street racing north of Grand Island Monday. Around 8:30 p.m. Grand Island police spotted two vehicles racing on Capital Ave. The officer heard “distinct engine revs” before spotting the vehicles. When the officer tried to initiate a traffic stop both vehicles continued. Gerald Beyersdorf was identified as one of the drivers. The officer said Beyersdorf smelled like alcohol, had blood shot eyes, slurred speech, and admitted to drinking. His records show that his license was revoked in 2007 for three prior DUI convictions. His BAC was 0.173, police say. Beyersdorf was arrested for driving without a license, Exhibition/Racing on the streets, and 4th aggravated DUI. The other driver later identified and a teenage girl was contacted by police and didn’t have a valid drivers license. She was cited for Exhibition/Racing on the streets.
