A judge sentenced a Hastings man to 30 days in jail for attempted third-degree domestic assault on Tuesday. The man is connected to a July 2021 domestic fight that also resulted in the death of another Hastings man. Jacob Lewellyn, 26, was convicted in March in Adams County Court. The Court records indicate that a woman was attacked by Lewellyn on July 23, 2021. Police Investigators said Santinorey Gonzales, 28, threatened Lewellyn was a blunt weapon and Lewellyn shot and killed Gonzales and the County Attorney confirmed the shooting was in self-defense.
