Thomas Rosso, 63, faces federal charges for possession of 500 grams or more of meth mixture and 50 grams or more of actual meth with intent to distribute. He was originally facing state charges for possession of more than 140 grams of meth, but that case was dismissed in light of federal charges once the indictment went through on Thursday. These charges stem from a incident where officers with the Tri-City Drug Enforcement Team conducted a controlled delivery to Rosso’s residence in Alda in February where Rosso allegedly accepted a package that had 7.94 pounds of meth in it. After a search warrant was obtained for Rosso’s home officer eventually found an additional 90 grams of meth in couch cushions within the residence. Rosso’s trial date is set for Sept. 19th at 9 a.m.
