The Grand Island Police are investigating more trailer thefts after trailers carrying thousands of dollars worth of meat were stolen this last weekend. These incidents happened at Cold Storage Facility near McCain Foods, in the 200 block of Roberts Street. Capt. Jim Duering said two incidents were reported on Friday early in the evening after it was noticed by a truck driver that two trailers were missing along with there cargo. A second incident was reported on Sunday but police believe this also happened on Friday as well. All three of the trailers were carrying meat belonging to Gibbon Packing Co. In total the amount of cargo stolen is believed to total over $750,000. They have no suspects at this time for the thefts but they do have surveillance footage they are investigating. The police believe these incidents are related to another theft of trailers from June this year.
