The Lincoln Police Department received a call and sent officers to Taco Bell at 1440 W O St. around 9:00 p.m. for a reported weapons violation on December 10th. The caller reported that a man had used a metal rod to break an exterior door of the restaurant. After officers arrived on the scene and talked with witnesses and employees they learned that two employees of the restaurant an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old got into a fight with 53-year-old Christopher Schmidt because he had refused to leave the restaurant after being told to leave by employees. According to witnesses Schmidt was hit was an aluminum broom handle and a chair that was in the restaurant. After he was locked out of the restaurant Schmidt began breaking the glass on the exterior door. The damage done was estimated at a total of $400. LPD Schmidt was cited and lodged in jail for injure or destroy property of another. The 18-year-old was cited for second-degree assault and lodged in jail and the 19-year-old was cited for accessory to a class II felony and also lodged in jail.
