A move to legalize medical marijuana is again being made in Nebraska. After technicalities derailed the last two attempts to legalize medical marijuana the Legislature is now being asked to adopt the Medicinal Cannabis Act (LB588) by vote later this spring. Past opponents of this bill of been former governor and now Sen. Pete Ricketts and legendary Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne. The bill is backed by State Sen. Anna Wishart and is cosponsored by four others, Democrat Senators Carol Blood, Mike McDonnell, and Meghan Hunt and with them is Republican Ben Hanson who is also the chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee.
