An inmate is currently missing from the Community Corrections Center in Omaha. 20-year-old Julian Tapia tampered with his electronic monitoring device on Sunday in the morning and it was found a short distance from the facility. Officials say that Tapia is 6’4″ and weighs 190 lbs. He is a Hispanic man with brown eyes and black hair. According to authorities, Tapia was serving 8 to 21 years on first- and second-degree assault charges stemming from Buffalo County. His sentence began on July 17, 2020. He was scheduled to have a parole hearing in February of 2024 and had a tentative release date of August 17, 2030.
