In February 2024, the Nebraska Department of Transportation released a report indicating that 14 individuals lost their lives in traffic accidents on Nebraska roads.
NDOT data reveals that these 14 fatalities resulted from 13 separate crashes. Among the 12 vehicle occupants who died, six were not wearing seatbelts, three were, and the seatbelt usage for three others remains unknown.
The report highlights that 10 of the fatalities occurred in rural areas, with two on the interstate, nine on various highways, and three on local roads.
Included among the victims were a pedestrian and a motorcyclist, each accounting for one of the fatal incidents.
