NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – A Lexington woman is facing charges of motor vehicle homicide following the death of a Lexington man.
According to the Lexington Police Department, 42-year-old Vilma Almanza Siles and her partner, 38-year-old Yuniesky Diaz Gomez, were involved in an argument upon arriving at their home early Sunday. Siles attempted to leave, but Gomez stepped in front of the vehicle to prevent her from doing so and was subsequently struck by the car.
Gomez was transported by ambulance to Lexington Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Siles is also being charged with driving under the influence.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, June 3. The police are continuing their follow-up investigations into the incident.
The initial investigation, supported by Lexington Fire and Rescue and the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, is also ongoing.
