Nebraska Director of Athletics Troy Dannen announced Tuesday that Head Baseball Coach Will Bolt has signed a new five-year contract, securing his position through the 2029 season with an annual salary of $500,000. Dannen praised Bolt’s longstanding contributions to Nebraska Baseball, noting that his experience as a head coach, assistant coach, and former player has been instrumental in the program’s success. He emphasized that Bolt’s deep understanding of what it takes to win at Nebraska and his vision for the future will continue to elevate the team.
In 2024, Bolt led the Huskers to a 40-22 overall record, marking the program’s 19th 40-win season and their first Big Ten Tournament title since joining the conference in 2012. This victory also marked Nebraska’s first conference tournament title since 2005, a season when Bolt was part of the coaching staff.
Bolt has accumulated 137 wins over five seasons, ranking him sixth in program history. Under his leadership, the Huskers have captured two conference titles, reached two NCAA regional tournaments, and produced four All-Americans and nine MLB draft picks, including six in the top five rounds. Bolt has been a key figure in eight of Nebraska’s 19 NCAA Tournament appearances, whether as a player or coach, including a super regional appearance and three College World Series berths.
