Michael W. Gregory, 68, of York formerly of Ord passed away unexpectedly in York, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Ord Veterans Club. Private Inurnment will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented at the graveside by the U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard, Ord VFW Post 7029, American Legion Post #38, and Sons of the American Legion Post #38. Memorials are suggested to Vets Got Pets through the Nebraska VA or encourage others to adopt a Vet and help their neighbors.

Michael Wayne was born November 16, 1956, at Lincoln, Nebraska to Wayne W. and Audrey K. (Caselton) Gregory. He was raised on the family farm near Ord where he received his education and graduated from Ord High School in 1975. During his high school years he excelled in football and boxing.
Mike married Bernadette Ryan in 1976, and had two children, Sandra Kaye and Nicholas Joseph. He later married Debra Sonne in 1991, and was blessed with two more children, Sarah Lynn and Joseph Wayne.
In 1976, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps he served during the First Gulf War and was involved in artillery training, jungle combat and received numerous achievements. Following the Marines, he returned to Nebraska where he worked as a policeman in St. Paul and Grand Island.
Mike continued to serve in the Army National Guard and Air Force National Guard. While in the Air Force National Guard, Mike completed Biomedical Equipment Repair in 2000. He lastly served overseas as a Military Policeman for the United Nations in Kosovo and Afghanistan until he retired from the military. Mike regained civilian life in 2005 and returned to his hometown of Ord; he later moved to Omaha where he worked for Terracon. Following retirement, he settled in York.
Mike was a man of many talents, he knew a lot about a lot and was always willing to help anyone in need. He spent time shooting, hunting, 4-wheeling, watching old history and western shows and listening to his large music collection. Mike enjoyed his family and hanging out with his cat, Austin.
His memberships included VFW, American Legion and NRA.
Survivors include two sons, Nicholas Reynolds (Kimber) of Salida, Colorado and Joseph Gregory of Ord; one daughter, Sarah Gregory (Nick Hay) of Wahoo; five grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Dawson (James) of Lincoln, and Laura Reurink (Jeff) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a brother, Scott Gregory (Nancy) of Plattsmouth; and 6 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Sandra Gregory.
