GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A man in Grand Island is facing theft charges after police say he helped himself to a hotel breakfast without paying.
Around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Grand Island police responded to Boarder’s Inn and Suites near Locust Street and Husker Highway. Officers say Rowdy Skinner entered the hotel, ate at the breakfast buffet, and left without paying.
Hotel staff told police they confronted Skinner, but he ran off after being questioned. The hotel reported a $10 loss for the unpaid meal.
When officers later located Skinner, they discovered he had an active arrest warrant out of Douglas County for possession of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody on suspicion of theft and on the outstanding warrant.
