Harold E. Bartholomew of Taylor passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society-St. John’s in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 83.
Harold Eugene was born on May 26, 1942, at Taylor, Nebraska to Earl and Muriel (VanSlyke) Bartholomew. He was raised in Taylor where he received his education and graduated from Taylor High School in 1960.
Following high school he worked in construction and was a ranch hand.
On July 10, 1965, Harold and Judy Maxson were united in marriage at Taylor, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Brent and Shonna. Harold lived all his life in Taylor. In the early 1970’s he began driving a truck which he spent most of his adult life working at.
Harold was very proud of his large garden and yard. He enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gun Smoke. Family time and his grandchildren were his favorite pastimes.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy of Taylor; son, Brent Bartholomew of Kearney; daughter and son-in-law, Shonna and Ty Behmerwohld of Kearney; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and June Bartholomew of Columbus and a sister, Gloria Dunbar of Overland Park, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bartholomew; grandson, Colby Bartholomew; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Sharon and John Ruzicka and Larry Dunbar and a nephew, Brian Dunbar.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Calamus Trinity Methodist Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Alan Petersen will officiate. Private Inurnment will be in the Taylor Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice for future designation.
