Eva M. (Chalupsky) Wells, of Lincoln formerly of Comstock passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Havelock Manor in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 98.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord, Nebraska. Father Paul Colling will be the Mass Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Eva May was born October 23, 1927, in Comstock, Nebraska to Jacob and Antonia (Polak) Chalupsky. She was raised in Comstock where she received her education and graduated from high school in 1945.
Eva and LeRoy Wells were united in marriage on October 7, 1947, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in the Geranium Township of Valley County. The couple was blessed with three sons, Steven, Larry and Michael.
The family made their home in the Comstock area where they ranched and raised registered Hereford cattle. During Eva’s working years, she was employed as the Comstock Village Clerk then went to the Comstock-Ord schools where she was a cook for eleven years and a teacher’s aide for seven years. Upon her retirement in 1996, she volunteered at the Comstock Senior Center and served on their board. Eva has made her home in Lincoln since 2007.
Eva was a member of the Geranium, Sargent and Ord Catholic Churches where she was active in the altar societies. She was involved in many capacities at the Comstock Senior Center and Village of Comstock and belonged to the Comstock Helpful Homemakers Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends by writing letters and cards and taking family photographs.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Sandy Wells of Lincoln, Larry and Penny Wells of Guernsey, Wyoming and Mike and Sherry Wells of Ord; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Brent, John, Melissa, Sarah, Adam, Ryan, Ashley and Cassie; and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; three brothers, Joe, Bill and Arthur Chalupsky; and two sisters, Lillian Ruzicka and Norma Panowicz.
