Harold R. Boyce of Ord passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska at the age of 91.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord, Nebraska. Father Paul Colling will be the Mass Celebrant. Military Honors will be presented at the church following the Mass by the Ord VFW Post 7029, American Legion Post #38, and Sons of the American Legion Post #38. Private Family Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Community Memorial Health Center. Ord Memorial Chapel is assisting with the arrangements. Born on May 8, 1934, in rural Valley County, Nebraska, to Elwin E. and Mary C. (Kirby) Boyce, Harold was raised on farms near North Loup and northwest of Ord. He attended Barker rural school and North Loup High School, leaving early to assist on the family farm due to his father’s health.
Harold proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. After his service, he returned to Ord, working for local farmers and at L&W Service Center before his 30-year career as a machinist at Greenway Implement in Ord.
Harold and Virginia Konkoleski were united in marriage on July 25, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elyria, Nebraska. Together, they raised six children in the Elyria and Ord areas. Virginia passed away on November 22, 2021, and Harold has made his home at the Community Memorial Health Center since December of 2022.
Harold was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He enjoyed visiting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren and was always ready for his ice cream. He had a deep love for his family, enjoying time with them and attending their sporting events.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Jeanne Boyce of Show Low, Arizona, Doug Boyce, Kelly and Sandy Boyce and Tim and Shelley Boyce all of Ord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janell and Shawn Brock of Columbus and Michelle and Jade Stunkel of Ord; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerome Boyce of Omaha and a sister and brother-in-law, Luella and Dennis Pavlik of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Virginia; brother, Harlan Boyce and sister-in-law, Lilian Boyce.
