GRAND ISLAND — A disagreement between neighbors over the placement of a fence led to an arrest Wednesday evening in Grand Island.
Police say officers responded to the incident around 5:42 p.m. on April 8th, where a dispute had developed between two men living next to each other. According to Grand Island Police Division Chief Dean Elliott, Timothy Bierhaus, 46, of Grand Island, was in the process of installing a fence along the property line when his neighbor, Myron Harring, 47, became upset about the location of the fence.
Authorities report that Harring bent one of the fence posts during the disagreement. Investigators say the situation then escalated when Bierhaus allegedly threatened Harring with a crowbar.
Both individuals requested that charges be filed following the confrontation.
Bierhaus was taken into custody and arrested on charges of felony making terroristic threats and felony use of a deadly weapon, identified as a crowbar, to commit a felony.
Harring was issued a citation for misdemeanor criminal mischief, involving property damage valued at less than 500 dollars.
