ORD — The Ord Board of Education has approved re-rubberization of the elementary playground.
The current floor is getting old and needing a replacement. The total cost of this work is $45,558. The school has a fund to pay for projects such as these and the hope is to use a state scrap tire grant to assist.
If it is chosen for that, Ord expects to gain $6,500 to $7,000 to pay for it.
The grant is similar to one the district received last year to perform work on its track.
