ORD — Updated zoning regulations have been approved by the Valley County Board of Supervisors.
Most of the details of these rules are standard and intended to divide the county into residential, agricultural, commercial and other land uses.
In essence, this organizes the county and protects it from certain legal gray areas.
Valley County may still look into the addition of late feeds for folks who begin the building process without a permit. Howard County has a similar fee.
Lastly, these new regulations leave the door open for the county to apply to be designated livestock friendly. Currently, there are no explicit benefits to the designation, but it does make it easier for companies to see which areas have friendly agricultural regulations.
