ORD — Valley County Health System took advantage of CDC Exercise for handling a flu pandemic this week.
The activity tested local response plans for widespread illness and other medical emergencies.
The VCHS Medical Clinic, Pharmacy, Home Health and Hospice, Infection and ER Services, Valley View Senior Village, Region 26, Valley County Emergency Management, and Sherman-Valley Local Emergency Planning were all included.
Nebraska is the first state to perform the task on a multi-county level.
The CDC and national health groups have expressed interest in reviewing the exercise and potentially duplicating it in other states.
