COLUMBUS — A man accused of carjacking is set to sentenced in Columbus.
Eric Kluthe took a plea deal this week after being accused of several crimes related to the incident. The 32-year-old pleaded no contest to false imprisonment and guilty to a weapons charge. This after prosecutors lowered the weapons charge and dropped two related offenses.
Kluthe allegedly put a handgun to the head of a Norfolk man who was sleeping in an SUV in March. He then forced the man to accompany him and another individual to Columbus. The victim called the police after being released in Columbus.
The stolen SUV was located at a convenience store and the man with Kluthe wasn’t arrested.
He’s scheduled to sentenced on June 17th.
