Two Burwell Longhorns will become Chadron Eagles this fall. Tori Huffman and Tyler Gideon are concluding successful high school athletic careers and parlaying them into scholarships to play football at Chadron State College.
Huffman starred in football and wrestling at Burwell. He rushed for more than 2,000 yards during his senior year and defensively averaged 7 1/2 tackles per game. Gideon, who played football, wrestled, and ran track for the Longhorns, had 49 receptions during the 2016 season, 17 for touchdowns. Defensively, he had 95 tackles, 46 were solos.
Both Huffman and Gideon are looking forward to furthering their education at Chadron, while continuing their excellence on the gridiron.
