Nebraska Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Rayna Cain has announced that Cora Svoboda plans to enroll at Nebraska Wesleyan University and play volleyball during the 2017-18 school year.
Svoboda, currently a senior at Ord High School, was a Class C-1 All-State honorable mention selection as a senior. She was a two-time Nebraska Prep Volleyball honorable mention All-State selection. In 2016, Svoboda recorded 195 kills with 48 solo blocks and 60 ace serves.
Svoboda, 5′ 11”, was a middle hitter and part of the 2015 Class C-1 State runner-up team at Ord. She was named Lou-Platte All-Conference as a senior and selected to the All-Heartland 4th-Team by the “Grand Island Independent.” Svoboda received All-State honorable mention recognition by four different publications.
Also, Svoboda played basketball and ran track during her high school career. She was Academic All-State in both volleyball and basketball and was a member of National Honor Society, serving as president in her senior season.
