A Lincoln nonprofit group that specializes in replacing problem houses with new homes and homeowners is taking on two much bigger projects.
NeighborWorks director, Mike Renken, said that his group looks “to take the worst of the worst out of the neighborhoods.” But NeighborWorks also has begun construction on a development called Cooper Commons that will include seven new homes and is continuing work on Antelope Square, which eventually will include two dozen town homes.
Renken stated the projects don’t represent a shift in philosophy but are results of opportunities presented by vacant parcels that had space for more than one home.
