The Valley County Board of Supervisors met yesterday. The meeting began with a lengthy discussion on the road and rail project at 811th Road. Board members and Roads Superintendent, jay Meyer, spoke about the costs of a site analysis and future construction. The Board voted 5 – 2 to continue the project.
The Ord Area Chamber of Commerce requested use of the courthouse lawn on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 during the Tour de Nebraska Bike Tour. Folks participating in the Tour asked to use the lawn for yoga exercise on those days. The Board approved the request.
Also, Marc Munford, of Ameritas Investment, explained the terms of lease possibilities on a new ambulance for Valley County Health System. VCHS CEO, Nancy Glaubke, said that the ambulance is expected to arrive in early July.
And Wesley Lange of the Mira Valley 4-H Livestock Club spoke to the Board, expressing the Club’s interest in cleaning up Vinton cemetery. The Road Department will do some initial work at the site, prior to the 4-H Club’s participation.
The Valley County Board of Supervisors will meet again on April 11.
