The Valley County Health System (VCHS) Rehabilitation Services Department now offers specialized therapy programs – LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD – designed to help patients with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions improve their movement, communication, and speech skills.
LSVT BIG is a scientifically advanced physical and occupational therapy approach focused on improving motor function, as Parkinson’s and other neurological diseases often lead to stiffness, slowness of movement, and tremors.
LSVT LOUD is considered the leading evidence-based speech therapy for treatment of speech disorders in people with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. The disease(s) often lead to muffled speech, lowered speaking volume, and decreased facial expression.
