The Pump & Pantry State Fair Marathon is coming up with over 1,000 runners and counting. This years event is at 6:30 am on Saturday, August 26 at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds.
The day will feature the Pump & Pantry Marathon, Half-Marathon, Relay Marathon, 5K and 1-Mile Kids Run.
Known as the fastest flattest course in the nation, runners will go along tree-lined streets, Grand Islands hike and bike trails and around the moat at Stuhr Museum giving participants a pleasant scenery to run.
With ideas from larger marathons in the nation implemented on the Pump & Pantry State Fair Marathon, its not one to skip out on. As Grand Island YMCA race director, Jeffrey Doose stated on the Nebraska State Fair news release, This race is attracting a lot of national attention with the countrys elite runners.
