The Nebraska State Fair has set an attendence record of 379,000 for the 2017 year. That number is the best since the fair moved to Grand Island in 2008.
During the end of fair press conference yesterday State Fair Director Joseph McDermott said 60 percent of visitors come from central Nebraska and the metro areas of Lincoln and Omaha now comprised 20 percent of the audience.
The previous record for the Nebraska State Fair was 389,171 set in 1997 in Lincoln.
