In support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, approximately 300 and counting high school teams nationwide are launching Pledge It campaigns enabling their fans to pledge a donation for every touchdown scored.
Pledge it is the nations leading performance-based crowdfunding platform and has partnered with MaxPreps, the online high school sports leader and a CBS Sports Digital property.
They have launched the first-of-its-kind national high school football program aimed to unify teams across the country for a common cause: defeating childhood cancer.
Every Friday night, there are 60,000 touchdowns scored by high school teams across the country. Every year, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide.
For every touchdown scored by a participating high school between September 14 -30 it will directly benefit St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
