Ranchers who are looking to reduce calf loss at calving, and to learn how to properly assist cows at calving, should plan on attending Assisting the Beef Cow at Calving with Dr. Robert Mortimer.
Dr. Mortimer is a nationally known veterinarian from Colorado State University. He will discuss Handling Calving Difficulty with emphasis on decision making and the Hows and Whys of techniques of providing assistance.
This program was developed by Dr. Mortimer and its strong emphasis on hands-on experience in calving management and produced a video with Elanco and Beef Today on How to Save More Calves at Calving.
Programs will be held at six sites across the state of Nebraska with a cost of $20 and can be paid at the door.
