During the Holidays, families typically associate them with a table full of food. What people don’t usually think of is some families struggle to put even the most essential food items on the table.
The Ainsworth Ministerial Food Pantry helps those families in need Brown and Keya Paha counties during not just the holiday seasons but all year round. Located in the basement of the Zion Lutheran Church, the pantry is able to do so thanks to donations and countless volunteer hours.
Pastor Georg Williams said he only asks two questions when someone comes for items at the food pantry: Do you live in Brown or Keya Paha County and are you in need of food. Other than the requirement that the person receiving food lives in the service area, Williams said its not up to him, or any other person, to decide who deserves to utilize the food pantry.
Communities all around the state and country encourage citizens to donate to their local food pantries to help those families in need during the holiday season and all year round.
