Grand Island police investigators have identified a suspect in the New Years Day homicide of 19-year-old Trevor Sok at 1303 W. Charles St.
An arrest warrant has been obtained for Herbey Portillo Jr., who is currently homeless. Charges in the warrant include first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Portillo is a 24-year-old Hispanic male. He is 5 foot 7 and weighs 190 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos on both arms including, but not limited to, human skulls and his last name. Portillo may be armed with a semi-automatic pistol and should not be approached. If you have any information as to his location call 911.
Emergency personnel responded to 1303 W. Charles at about 3:45 a.m. Monday. Sok, who had suffered gunshot wounds, was transported to CHI Health St. Francis where he died from his injuries.
An autopsy for Sok is scheduled for Tuesday at Douglas County Health Center in Omaha.
