Valley County Health Foundation Hosted its annual festive gala at Trotter event Center on January 13. The theme was “Night in White” and attendees looked stunning in their white attire as they filled the event center. With over 300 tickets sold, (breaking the all-time attendance record) the evening kicked off with Nebraska beer, wine and coffee tastings. Delicious food pairings and desserts were provided by Elyria Gardens, and the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful background music provided by Blue Skies Jazz Quartet.
During the evening retiring board member, Terry cone, was honored with the Foundations Leadership Award; Dana F. Cole, Co. with the Volunteer Award, and also the late Lloyd & Naomi Geweke with the Legacy Society Award.
“Through the years, the foundation has seen a tremendous amount of support from the community. We are pleased to share these achievements and continue our mission to bring upgrades and enhancements to Valley County Health System to ensure high-quality healthcare to the people they serve.” stated Becky Ries. Executive Director of the Foundation.
Ries noted that the annual “Make it Happen” auction was a primary focus of the evening, raising funds for a new ultrasound machine. “We live in a generous community and I am so honored to say that over $68,000 was raised toward our $100,000 goal for a new ultrasound at the Gala.” There was also $5,000 raised apart from the “Make it Happen” auction and it will be designated to the Board Endowment Fund.
The annual Gala raises critical funds for hospital equipment and services. In previous years, the gala has benefited equipment needs for several departments within Valley County Health System.
Reid Hagstrom, Foundation Chairperson and Caleb Pollard, Vice-Chair, served as co-master of ceremonies for the event.
“Valley County Health System has an exceptionally collaborative staff and providers who put patients’ needs first; and we bring the very best practices in a healing, patient-centered environment. To witness the amount of community support for the hospital is inspiring. I would like to thank everyone who has a part in making this Gala the most successful one to date.” Ries stated.
If you were unable to attend the Gala and would like to help support the efforts for a new ultrasound, donations can be mailed to VCHS Foundation, PO Box 321, Ord, Nebraska 68862 or visit www.vchs-foundation.org to donate online.
