At approximately 10:14 PM Thursday, March 1, Howard County 911 Center received a call of a one vehicle rollover accident on a gravel road in rural Howard County Nebraska. There were two occupants in the vehicle, a 16 year old Howard County resident and a 17 year old Hall County Resident.
The vehicle was north bound on a rural Howard County road, lost control, and rolled. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this accident. Seatbelts were not in use.
Both victims were transported to Howard County Community Hospital in St Paul, where Howard County resident, age 16 was pronounced dead. The other occupant was transferred by helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
The Accident was investigated by Howard County Sheriffs Office and the Nebraska State Patrol. A reconstruction team from Nebraska State Patrol was called to reconstruct the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
