MAY 8, 2018 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.) During the evening hours of Thursday, May 3, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) conducted alcohol inspections at businesses in Dawson County.
This project was supported in whole or part by Grant #93.243 under the Strategic Prevention Framework PFS Grant, Region II Human Services, SAMHSA, and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Service.
A total of 12 businesses were checked. Two sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 17%. All of the businesses checked the minors ID. The businesses included gas stations, liquor stores, bars, and restaurants. The businesses which failed the inspection were:
- El Paraiso Cozad
- Conoco Travel Plaza Lexington
NSP performs alcohol inspections in an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of youth. Businesses which fail the inspection are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
