Ord, NE — National Cancer Survivors Day is Sunday, June 3, 2018. In honor of this day, Valley County Health System (VCHS) will celebrate those in our community who are living with and beyond cancer with a free lunch on Friday, June 1 for cancer survivors and their families. The lunch will be held in the VCHS Courtyard Grille from 11 AM to 2 PM.
Hundreds of communities worldwide will be celebrating the life of cancer survivors. Thousands of caregivers, family members, friends and healthcare professionals will gather to honor those who survived, showing the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding and even inspiring.
A survivor is anyone living with a history of cancer from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, according to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation. In the United States alone, there are more than 15.5 million people living with a history of cancer.
VCHS encourages you to join us for this event to celebrate all cancer survivors and their family members, friends and healthcare professionals that have supported them. If you have any questions, please contact Becky Ries, 308.728.4299.
