KEARNEY — Exercise Science Major Andrew Fields from Ord, Nebraska was among 12 other Kearney Loper athletes who received MIAA Scholar Athlete Honors for the winter of 2018.
The MIAA, for at least the 2017-18 academic year, has changed the Academic All-Conference process. Those student-athletes that have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and are named All-MIAA in their respective sport will be honored at the end of the fall, winter and spring semesters. At the same time student-athletes with a 4.00 cumulative GPA will be recognized as well (Excellence Award). Note GPA’s are from the most recent completed semester.
Fields, a junior, has a cumulative grade point average of 3.61.
The MIAA Academic Honor Roll, for student-athletes with at least a cumulative GPA of 3.00, will be released later this June. For the past four years, the Academic Honor Roll was released at the end of fall, winter and spring.
Below are the Loper Scholar-Athlete qualifiers in baseball, softball, golf, tennis and outdoor track. Freshmen and first-year transfers in all sports will be recognized (Academic Excellence, Scholar Athlete and Honor Roll) later this summer.
