On Friday morning, the man accused of the murder of Sydney Loofe entered not guilty pleas during his arraignment in Saline County District Court
According to Antelope County News, 51-year-old Aubrey Trail has pleaded not guilty to murder in the first degree, a class 1 or 1A Felony. This gives the potential for life in prison or the death penalty. Trail is also being charged with improper disposal of human skeletal remains, a class IV Felony and carries up to 2 years in prison and a fine.
On Thursday, the Nebraska State Attorney Generals office filed court documents indicating that the state intends to seek the death penalty in Trails case.
Trails status hearing is set for August 20 at 10 a.m.
His partner, 24-year-old Bailey Boswell is also charged in the Neleigh natives death. She is set to appear in court on July 24.
