According to the Valley County Sheriff Casey Hurlburt they have received reports of another telephone scam. The caller poses as a relative in need of bail money to get out jail.
These callers are typically targeting elderly citizens and grandparents. These scammers know names with even a few details about their grandchildren they are posing as according to Sheriff Hurlburt.
Sheriff Hurlburt advises that If you do receive a phone call like this hang up and call your relative the scammer was attempting to mask as. If for any reason you are unsure the Valley County Sheriff’s office encourages people to call their office to report the phone call at 308-728-3906.
